The Musicians

Brenda Lee (Jazz Vocals)
Brenda Lee is an Australian Eurasian of Portuguese, Dutch,Malay, Chinese and Irish heritage. Exuding the elegance of jazz, Brenda has performed as a jazz vocalist in Australia, Canada, America and Malaysia. Her vocal character is deep and sultry with an unquestionable trueness of essence and Latin Jazz influence.

Tom O’Halloran (Piano Composer)
An award winning and world class jazz pianist, Tom O’Halloran is an Australian who has performed at some of the most prestigious musical venues including Sydney Opera House,The Houstan International Jazz Festival, The IAJE Festival in New York, Villa Celimontana in Italy and also as part of the Dubai Philharmonic Orchestra in UAE. Tom has produced two Jazz albums with his latest, entitled “We Happy Few” winning the 2009 ABC Limelight Magazine Award for best jazz achievement. Tom leads the Jazz Piano department at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) at Edith Cowan University, and also lectures in jazz composition and improvisation.

Glenn Rogers (Guitar)
Glenn Rogers is a guitarist composer accomplished in both jazz and classical guitar. Glenn has performed with symphony orchestras, concert venues and festivals in Amsterdam, India, Belgium and Australia in diverse styles ranging from Indian and European Classical to Brazilian and Latin Jazz.

Shane Pooley (Bass)
Slick and sophisticated, Shane sets a solid foundation as a highly skilled musician. His wide and diverse experience comes from performing and recording with notable artists in many genres including funk, acoustic pop, top 40, dance and jazz.
A 2003 graduate of the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Shane currently teaches music and performs in Perth Western Australia. His musical career also showcases a tour of Melbourne, Sydney, Rome and Spain.

Chris Tarr (Drums)
A specialist in Jazz and Latindrums and percussion, Chris Tarr is a well sought after musician who has supported many musical shows including Fame and Dirty Dancing. A recording artist who has extensive touring experience, Chris has also performed with international jazz artists such as Ron Carter, James Morrison, Marc Isaacs, John Taylor, Dave Samuals, Frank Foster, Randy Brecker, Kenny Drew Jnr Mark Livine and Bob Shepard to name but a few. Winner of Australia’s Best Up and Coming Drummer (1995), and author of ‘The Drummer’s Handbook, Chris currently lectures at the West Australian Conservatorium of Music.

Danny Moss Jnr. (Double Bass)
Danny’s propulsive lines and ‘long note’ style have earned him a considerable reputation. Indeed one of Europe’s top piano players John Critchinson, (long time member of Ronnie Scotts quartet), dubbed Danny ‘The Pathfinder’ due to his driving and harmonically sympathetic bass lines on a recent European tour.Danny can be heard on many fine recordings with world renowned artists such asDanny Moss MBE, Jeanie Lambe, Sir John Dankworth, Don Burrows, John Wheatley, Martin Drew , Scott Hamilton, Tony Coe, Simon Spillett and has performed at most of the major European jazz festivals including Brecon, Edinburgh, Foehr, Corsham, Galway, Bridgenorth, Berlin, Munich, Hof, Zurich and Vienna.

Ben Vanderwal (Drums)
Ben is one of Australia’s most sought after jazz drummers,with global touring experience in the U.K., France, Ireland, India, U.S.A., China, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China and Thailand. Ben was the drummer for the highly successful ‘Tim Minchin vs The Orchestra’ Australian tours in 2011 and 2012 and toured twice in 2014 with Thirsty Merc frontman Flai Thistletwayte.
Ben studied with Frank Gibson Jnr. and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from Edith Cowan University in 1999. He also studied privately in New York with Afro Cuban artists and has performed with John Scofield, Charlie Haden, Joe Lovano, Howard Levey, Madeleine Peyroux, Guthrie Govan, Gilad Hexelman, James Morrison, Chris Potter, George Garzone, Kate Ceberano, Mark Murphy, Emie Watts, Lionel Flose, David Campbell, Flhonda Birchmore, Nigel Kennedy, Don Burrows, Deborah Byme and Normie Howe.

Thierryno Gangou (Piano)
Thierryno Gangou has extensive international experience performing as a pianist in prestigious hotels.
Thierryno performed at La Veranda, Royal Palm, Blue Lagoon and le Touesrok hotels in his native Mauritius in the 60’s where he also held along term residency at Le Canonnier. In 1996 Thierryno performed at the prestigious Raffles Hotel in Singapore, Diakarta, Sari Pan Pacific hotel and the Regent Hotel in Malaysia.
He also performed in Dubai with The Creole Stars and held a six month residency at the prestigious Burj Al Arab where he performed for the Princess of Brunei and Nelson Mandela.
Thierryno performed at the Royal Mirage Hotel and took up residency at the Royal Meridien Hotel in Bahrain before heading to Seychelles to perform at Le Lemuria, Le Meridien, Le Taj Spa and Resort, Le Touesrok and the Sands Resort in Mauritius.
Currently based out of Perth, Thierryno holds a residency at the Crown Metropol Hotel. He has also performed at Mindarie Quays, the Burswood Spice Lounge, Captain Cook Cmises and as part of the WAMI Award winning band, Grace Barbe, having toured Australia as part of the Byron Bay Blues and Roots and Fairbridge festivals.
